Dow is taking part in Moscow Science Festival within VIII All-Russian Science Festival

Moscow, Russia - October 04, 2018 - The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) jointly with the Russian Chemists Union and other chemical companies is taking part in Moscow Science Festival within VIII All-Russian Science Festival. The event will be held on October 12-14, 2018 in Expocentre, Pavilion 2, Halls 4, 5, 6. Dow invites everyone to visit “Formula of the Future”, a joint booth of Dow and its partners, in the Hall 4 and to take part in an educational and interactive agenda. Free entrance from 10.00 till 18.00.

Dow’s agenda will include different chemical experiments on the following topics:

  • Polyurethanes mushrooms
    Participants of the Festival will be able to grow a polyurethane mushroom and take it home as a give-away.
  • Chemists play
    Have you ever heard about “non-Newtonian fluid” and its properties? During the Festival, participants will be able to test its mechanical properties using an unusual experiment.
  • Super absorbent
    Dow’s employees will demonstrate super absorbent in action and will tell more about monomers and diffusion.
  • STEM
    Moreover, Dow employee will tell more about Dow STEM movement aimed at promoting science and technical specialties among students supporting and initiating educational projects. Dow launched the global STEM initiative in 2014. During the recent three years, more than 3,000 STEM Ambassadors supported more than 2, 500 teachers and 700 projects enhancing STEM opportunities for more than 380, 000 students.

Every participant of Dow’s agenda will have an opportunity to visit Dow’s “laboratory” at the booth and take part in different experiments. You will learn how to make kinetic sand, playdough and many new facts about polymer materials and their properties.
