Dow to host students at Ramenskoye plant
MOSCOW - September 10, 2019 - As part of the 150-year anniversary celebration of Mendeleev’s periodic table of elements, Dow will host high school students of Ramensky district of Moscow region, specialized in technology, science and mathematics for a visit of its local site on September 12.
“In Russia and the CIS, we work with local universities, schools and non-profit organizations to increase awareness of the fundamental importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) among new generations,” said Arthur Eritspokhov, regional leader of Dow in Russia and the CIS. “I trust visiting this plant and meeting the people who make it run every day is a unique opportunity for the students to better understand how knowledge is put into practice to deliver tangible benefits.”
During the visit of this advanced manufacturing facility that manufactures polymer dispersions for the coatings and packaging industries, the students will take part in interactive experiments and gain occasions to learn more about chemical processes and about the importance of safety in industrial operations.
“Our site has been cooperating with industrial and engineering universities in Moscow for a number of years, but we will host high school students for the first time,” said Sergey Bendenko, leader of the Ramenskoye site. “I hope this excursion will inspire our young visitors to consider STEM education and the breadth of career opportunities it has to offer.”
Mr. Andrey Skibo, deputy head of administration of Ramensky district, will visit the event as a guest of honor.
