Dow supports health professionals responding to COVID-19

MOSCOW, Russia – June 30, 2020 – Dow (NYSE: DOW) collaborated with the local non-commercial organizations (NCOs) in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan to support COVID-19 relief measures. The Company made a series of donations to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare staff rescuing people from the COVID-19 pandemic in the Region. Thanks to the charitable support of Dow, NCOs supplied the following PPE:

  • Protective masks and disposable medical gloves for hospitals in Lipetsk region, Saint-Petersburg, Moscow and Moscow region in Russia
  • Protective medical coveralls and masks for hospitals in Cherkassk and Ivano-Frankovsk regions in Ukraine
  • PPE and disinfectants for hospitals in Belarus
  • Essential items for Kazakh vulnerable communities suffered during COVID-19.

“Dow has been a responsible partner in the Region for more than 45 years supporting various social projects and addressing challenging needs of society. We always try to do as much as possible to help local communities especially during tough periods like today’s pandemic situation. We believe that not only global companies should help our society to cope with COVID-19 but all the people around the globe as every charitable action matters these days,” said Arthur Eritspokhov, Dow Russia and CIS regional leader. “I would like to say Thank You So Much - to all our doctors and healthcare staff for the courageous job they are doing every day, and also to NCOs and volunteers who are helping people to respond to COVID-19.”

Along with the donation, the Company could find a solution to support orphans involving employees during the lockdown in a charitable and healthy on-line project Dow Energy People. Over the last three months the employees have been doing sport at home posting their results on the closed on-line group. Dow converted every post into money. The Team realized 397 sport trainings and 23 handicrafts. These joint efforts helped to collect 400 000 RUB which were donated to the charity organization Arifmetika Dobra to support orphans in obtaining additional lessons. During the classes orphans will be able to strengthen their knowledge before taking their final exams to enter universities they have been dreaming about for ages.
