Dow Izolan hosts a site visit for the US Ambassador

Vladimir, Russia - July 25, 2017

On July 19, Dow Izolan, a joint venture of The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) and Izolan ltd., hosted a site visit for the United States Ambassador John F. Tefft and his delegation. The event was also attended by representatives of the Vladimir Region Administration. The purpose of the visit was to learn more about the production facility and activity of one of the biggest Russian-American companies.

Tefft & Sergey Anikin, Dow Izolan General ManagerSergey Anikin, general manager of Dow Izolan, welcomed the guests and delivered a presentation about Dow Izolan’s operation in Russia and the CIS. The Ambassador expressed a keen interest in chemistry, manufacturing process of polyurethane systems and end-use products where Dow Izolan materials are applied.

Along with the business-related topics, Anikin highlighted corporate social responsibility as an important part of Dow Izolan’s activity. He briefly spoke on various initiatives related to education, sports and religious heritage, supported by the Company. The main focus was on the Lukhtonovo orphanage, which Dow Izolan took under its patronage in 2011 and since then has been annually helping disabled children. During these years, the Company’s efforts and resources have been focused on the improvement of children’s health, social adaptation as well as comprehensive development of their skills and talents.

Later the guests watched a short video on the recent charitable project of Dow Izolan and Dow when the companies financed the construction of a sports ground for orphans. The initiative was aimed at growing the talents of the children, allowing them to achieve better results and new heights in sports. One of the brightest examples in sports was the victory of a Lukhtonovo student in a judo competition at the 14th Special Olympics held in Los Angeles in 2015. Tefft was impressed by the work of Dow Izolan in social projects and its systematic approach in helping the Lukhtonovo orphanage.

The Ambassador highlighted: “Dow Izolan is a vivid example of US-Russia business focusing on creating jobs, sharing best practices and growing the regional economy. I was pleased to see the high level of chemical manufacturing , and the Company’s proactive work in social responsibility, supporting orphans and other vulnerable communities.”

The visit was followed by an environmental, health and safety introduction by Igor Tsarfin, production and supply chain director of Dow Izolan, and a site tour. The guests were able to see the main production departments, laboratory and warehouse with ready products, as well as to note the excellent work of the plant’s automation system and the international standards of quality implemented at the site.
