Dow Broadening Packaging Horizons at Interplastica 2019
Expanded portfolio, “Move-it-safely Academy” and sustainability discussion to lead Dow’s presence at Russia’s annual fair for plastics and rubber
Moscow - January 28, 2019 - As a leading innovator and collaborator in the industry, Dow invites customers and the industry to conversations on innovations to achieve more sustainable, cost-efficient and customer-tailored market solutions during Interplastica 2019, Russia’s largest international trade fair for plastics and rubber which will take place from January 29 to February 1, 2019 in Expocenter, Moscow.
Dow will exhibit innovative solutions for food packaging, infrastructure, consumer and transportation markets on stand 1C25 in Pavilion 1. Dow specialists will engage with industry representatives, sharing experiences on a broad range of resins, films and adhesives and packaging structures, as well as the latest consumer preferences around the world. Visitors will have an opportunity to deep dive into a broad display of prototypes for applications in packaging, infrastructure and transportation.
Integrated portfolio opening exciting opportunities
“Interplastica is a perfect occasion for Dow to connect with our customers and packaging industry experts to identify new opportunities together and strengthen existing collaborations,” said Alexander Kulik, sales director for Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics in Russia and CIS countries who follows on Marc van den Biggelaar. “This fair, right at the start of the year, is crucial for us to accelerate the commercialization of innovations in this large, high growth potential region.”
“With an extended portfolio now combining Dow and DuPont’s products offering, such as INNATE™ and SURLYN©, we are having the possibilities to address demanding customer needs with advanced solutions for preserving food, reducing cargo failures, lightweighting automotive components and minimizing the carbon footprint of cars and buildings,” said Grant Fisher, sales director for Infrastructure, Consumer and Transportation at Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics in Europe.
“Move-it-Safely Academy” gathering specialists on transportation regulation
Dow will offer a special 3-hour “Move-it-Safely Academy” to customers active in industrial and consumer packaging, one of Dow’s innovation spotlights during the show. Several specialists from Dow and the value chain will give insights and comments about current and future market trends, including the machine manufacturer WINDMÖLLER & HÖLSCHER KG.
The session will discuss how latest technology resins can help enable customers to address sustainability concerns while meeting requirements on load stability, for a number of applications including cover pallet stretch films, stretch hood, heavy duty shipping sacks and collation shrink films.
“These expert academies resonate well in Eastern Europe and in Russia, enabling knowledge sharing through expert discussions with our customers in the region, ultimately helping to establish business growth opportunities in Russia and the CIS states,” said Helga Gomez, marketing manager EMEA at Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics.
Advancing a circular economy of plastics continues as top priority for Dow
Dow is a founding member of the recently launched global Alliance to End Plastic Waste, an organization that will bring the collective knowledge, resources and experience of many companies to address the issue of plastic waste leaking into the environment, through developing and scaling solutions to manage plastic waste and promote post-use solutions of plastic.
“We at Dow believe that plastic waste ending up in our environment is unacceptable”, states Alexander Kulik. “In fact, we believe that plastic is too valuable to be discarded as waste, which is why we are enabling solutions and promoting partnerships in order to ensure that plastics become a viable part of the circular economy.”
